Transforming Lives Across Gilgit-Baltistan

The Economic Transformation Initiative Gilgit-Baltistan (ETI-GB) is a $133.72 million development programme of the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development(IFAD) and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation(AICS) aims to improve incomes, reduce poverty, and build resilient rural communities across ten districts. The programme was initially approved for seven years (2015-2022) at the cost of $120.15 million. However, a three-year extension was approved with the expansion of its infrastructure activities to all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, which were earlier restricted to four districts. In 2025, ECNEC approved the revised PC-1 of the program till June 2029.
