The Provincial Government is supported to develop and adopt a provincial water policy covering water allocation rights, water usage and efficiency, water user fees and management, and irrigation scheme management.
The policy also covers the introduction and gradual adoption of efficient irrigation practices, and helps government channel resources and manpower for water-efficient practices and technologies.
This support is part of ETI-GB’s policy work under Component 3. Formulation of a Water O&M Policy is in progress, alongside related work on irrigation scheme management with the Water Management Directorate and beneficiary communities.
